Roseville Miminegash Watersheds Inc is a non-profit watershed group first established in 1991 and incorporated in 2009. We represent six watersheds in western PEI including Black Pond Brook, Miminegash River, Little Miminegash River, Campbellton, White Cove, and Daltons Brook. As of 2025, our total management area covers 13,735 hectares on the western coast of PEI!

We recognize that healthy watersheds are crucial for our communities and favourite nature spaces. Good watershed management allows for all members of the community to make decisions as to how to manage the watershed sustainably. Since 1991, Roseville Miminegash Watersheds has put thousands of hours into the Miminegash River. This involved managing of a large beaver population and beaver dams on the main stream branches. Summer crews have improved water flow and fish passage, planted thousands of trees, as well as installed brush mats to control sediment and modified large in-stream wood to create cover and habitat for a variety of species. The main branches of the Miminegash River also now have a developed trail which allows for easy access for summer projects and low impact recreation for the community. We have been instrumental in working with local farmers and the Dept. of Transportation to reduce severe erosion and sedimentation issues over the years, and through dialogue and collaboration have been successful in having several problematic bridges and culverts replaced.
Our board of directors is made up of community-based volunteers. These individuals meet on a regular basis to review and approve all projects, administer all financial obligations, and make recommendations to the ground crews for seasonal work. Communication is key and our board is active, working closely with our watershed coordinator in implementing enhancement projects and addressing any staffing issues. Our current team includes:
- Danny Murphy as Watershed Coordinator
- Dennis Rix as President
- Jocck Rix as Vice President
- Rodney Donahue as Treasurer
